The 2010 Lincolnshire youth election has been the most successful to date - 47 candidates standing (2 withdrawing) with 15334 votes cast and counted.
The Participation Team and Lincolnshire Youth Cabinet would like to thank all the candidates who put themselves forward and all the young people who made a positive contribution by voting - your support is what really makes it all worthwhile. We would also like to thank all the schools, colleges, youth and Connexions centres that participated for without your support it couldn't happen. Thank you to Gillian Merron MP for endorsing this year's election and providing some statements for the publicity, the library service for distributing and displaying election publicity and to all services and organisations that involved their young people in the process. We hope that you will continue to support our elected youth representatives and help them to fulfill their role - they can only represent through continued communication and dialogue - this is not the end but the beginning and I am sure your representatives are looking forward to hearing from you over the coming months.
